My response to 6WS comments

My Six Word Saturday post yesterday generated some disbelieving comments and that's good because if we all agreed and were all enthusiastic all the time then life would be pretty boring. For the record I'm not enthusiastic all the time and I'm also not a positive thinker all the time.

That makes me human because I still moan and groan, I still get annoyed and despondent. If I could get away with it, I would throw myself on the floor and kick and scream occasionally about the unfairness of life.

Let's face it, people who are over the top with enthusiasm all the time are quite simply a pain in the butt.

One of the things I did mention in the post was that enthusiastic people are completely open in their interactions with others so yes Audrey, I agree anyone who doesn't complain is not being totally honest. Nothing in life is perfect, nor is any one person.

Ron - I love the word 'bunk' and you would probably get on really well with my hubby, because he is a disbeliever as well, but that's fine because as I've mentioned before, I have enough enthusiasm for both of us and it's contagious so he can't escape from it.

I guess what I was trying to get across was that surrounding yourself with positive people and trying to find the positive in things can help you overcome obstacles and challenges quicker than if you let it bog you down.

So maybe my post yesterday should have been called 'Living, loving, laughing - enthusiastic about life (most of the time)' - only that wouldn't have been six words.

Cheers, Fi

  1. I think we agree quite a bit :) When I face a challenge, I choose to speak with those who will help me see lots of alternatives, lots of choices and will giggle with me when I realize that in a week, I won't remember how worried I was about this one thing :)

  2. Great post. Sorry i missed your six words yesturday guess I will ahve to get over there and check it out. Sounds like you ahve some very interesting comments. Always love coming and reading your happenings.
Im a bit out of the loop just dropping in as have a huge thing going on. But thsi brought a smile to my face.

  3. yeah, i got you the first time. I know nobody's always positive and enthusiastic. Please note that I said I'm constantly telling my inner negativity to shut the hell up. It's a ongoing battle. And like you & your husband, I have My beloved Sandra trying to drag my sad ass into the light.

  4. Missed your 6WS yesterday. Good post, as always. Your posts are always thought provoking and inspiring. And the muffin tops sorry I let you down but they are gone! Just the wrong I figure out a magic cure to get rid of them I will be sure to let you know. Deal?

  5. Hi Fi, on any given day I will be anywhere from 1 to 10 on the scale of enthusiasm, positiveness, happiness...

My desire is that if on a given day I am a '3', then I shall be the best '3' I can be -- which means, focusing on the positive will keep me from falling back to a 2 or 1...

You never have to make an excuse for your positiveness, nor defend it -- it's your right, your choice.

And you are beautiful because of it and because you are you!

  6. to be quite frank, i always thought those folks were phony somewhat... nobody can be that happy all of the time. they mean well, but it gets exhausting after a while. keeping things in balance is key, i find. so, i'll keep whining, but you'll never see me throwing a tantrum on the floor... and i'll enjoy the good times that come my way occasionally. just keeping it real!! you know me, by now...

Everyone has something valuable to say and I would love for you to share your thoughts
