6WS - Bubble has to burst soon enough

So I'm writing this and listening to the audio for the writing course I'm currently doing - multi-tasking at its best. Why is it that 33 minutes to sit and simply listen seems like a monumental time to not be doing anything else?

The weeks seem to be zooming by since I finished up work, I have plenty of things to do and I'm not sure where I found time to do anything when I was working and leaving the house at 7am and getting home at 6pm.

My weekends have become my weekends again, time for doing the things I want to do. Washing and housework gets done during the week. Weekends I have a little sleep in and during the week I'm up at normal go-to-work time.

My stellar week in review. I had my hair done Monday, had it all chopped off and I feel about 20 years younger, okay maybe only 5 years younger. I found a new hairdresser in a salon which has those awesome massage recliner chairs to sit in while they wash your hair with a television on the wall. Poor me having to sit and have my hair done.

I also gave in and bought myself an Ipad this week, this is after feeling I didn't need one for the longest time. I've now discovered how beneficial one of these is for the type of work I'm doing and also just because I could. So I'm doing lots of learning about Ipads.

Tuesday was a meeting with a lady I'm doing some work with. A very interesting person who has a mountain of knowledge so it's kind of fun and not much like work at all. Gets me thinking about all sorts of work possibilities as well. Plus she has my dream workspace for an office.

Wednesday I wrote a proposal for the work I'm doing and I did some planning for a business idea I have. Thursday was lunch with a girlfriend who I haven't seen for a while, we had so much to catch up on and I think we talked non-stop for two hours. Friday was writing, some design work and my chores - food shopping and cleaning.

Now to figure out how I can do this every week and earn a corporate wage doing it. Yes I have several potential jobs in the mix but I'm not very enchanted with the recruitment process at the moment which takes up to 6 - 8 weeks from the initial application. Arrghh, never would have happened when I was in human resources.

I'm getting so carried away with writing this post that I'm not hearing the audio for my course - it must be my mothers' ability to block out 'noise'.

Tomorrow my task is to try and talk hubby into letting me create my own work space which will of course require the purchase of a new desk and chair, lots of Officeworks goodies (love that place) and some reorganising of the house - he's gonna love that, not!

Anyhoo - hope you're all having a relaxing weekend. The smell of spring is in the air, it's my favourite time of year as long as hayfever stays away. I actually spent several hours gardening today, yes it's a hard life and someone has to do it. Besides, the bubble has to burst soon enough and I'll have to return to the real world.

Cheers, Fi

  1. Hahaha! to that ability we moms have to block out noise! Now, get back to that lesson! Great bubble bursting post, by the way, and I wish you luck in all your endeavors - especially that new work space!

  2. The quote and pic at the end is a good one. A lesson often learnt later in life, Fi.
I really must get to grips with technology. Thanks for reminding me. :)

    1. Yes, it's like a slap in the head when you finally realise that you don't have to put up with the 'crap'

  3. I envy you, Fi, for taking that writing course. It's been a long time since I did that. YES indeed, you NEED a writing and study place. THEN like I always told my students and tell students wherever I meet them, "Study hard."

Nice on the iPad. I/we(household) don't have one but both of us have iPhones that get e-mail, the Web, and the like. Mrs. Jim's is an I-5 with the latest stuff, mine is an older I-3S that my granddaughter gave me when she got a new one. Mine isn't even hooked in the telephone but it does iTunes Messaging (free) when I am on wifi. I.e. I use it for an iPad. It even does Kindle books for me.

    1. Tonya, I think we all need to learn it - I think I'm going to frame it and hang it on my wall above my desk

  6. Yeah, I don't know if I could do that. When I am reading of writing, I block out other sounds.

  7. Ya, I know what you mean. I usually like to play video games, or look at pictures, etc, when I have listen to a audio. I just don't feel right, just sitting there listening to it. It feels like I long time. : )
