6WS - Feeling inspired and writing it down

This morning I headed out to do my fruit and veg shopping and a few other errands. My brain is still in over drive and my next book idea is percolating and rapidly turning over in my head.

I got as far as my first stop which was the newsagent to buy a lottery ticket for the $21 million draw tonight (yeah I can only hope).

Whilst there I discovered that hardcover notebooks were on special, because I need just one more to add to the five hundred and three I already have. Plus it was pink, a houseful of boys and a lifetime of blue and you'll understand my penchant for pink and girly things.

Next stop was the Rivers Clearance store because I needed a new pair of shoes, okay so I have almost as many pairs of shoes as I do notebooks. Instead there I sat in the car park scribbling in my new notebook, trying to make sense of all of the ideas racing around my head. I eventually went home with work shirts for youngest, NO new shoes and pages of notes.

It's been the longest of times since I've just wanted to write fiction and been in a state where I haven't been able to concentrate on anything else. Not before time mind you. I'm thinking its a combination of the relief of getting out of a job that was sapping my energy, attending a certain inspiring writing group and finally being back in my happy place again.

No life isn't all smooth sailing and roses and sunshine, I'm a mother with teenage boys after all, but it's so much easier to deal with things and feel inspired once you throw off the suffocating chains.

This week I've also updated the cover of my fiction novel, it needed something and I like that it seems brighter. I've also published my non fiction 'Project Manage Your World' e-book on Amazon as well.

On the job front, I had a successful interview last Thursday and have another two to come, plus several other options in the wind. Feeling good about my prospects.

My most difficult decision at the moment seems to be deciding on suitable character names. Now that the writing bug has fully kicked in, you just know that I'm going to get a job offer don't you?

So what's been the best part of your week?

Also to several of my dearest on line buddies who are doing it kind of tough at the moment, here's hoping your coming week has an element of 'awesomeness' in it in some shape or form. Cyber hugs xx

Cheers, Fi

  2. Your soft spot for notebooks sounds sooo familiar lol. You made me smile while reading your words about it.
I'm happy for you you do have the right circumstances for writing... especially being 'in the happy place' is an important factor I guess.
Wish you good luck on the job hunting thing *and* the writing bug! Everything will fall in place eventually I'm sure.

  6. Hi Fi ~~ You never cease to amaze me (heard that before??) with all the things you accomplish. I hope you never run down. Best wishes with the job thing. That is what is nice about retirement, we don't care if we don't have a job. Give it to the younger people.

But then we have to worry about running out of money with no job. Mrs. Jim saw this morning that a breakfast buffet we used to like so well for $5.99 has gone up to $8.99 ++ (means plus drinks except water and coffee/tea, tax, and 18% gratuity).

    1. We forgot to get a lottery ticket this week. Someone from N. Carolina won it all, $400M. We don't buy tickets unless the $$$ are high.

    2. Too, I am really slow about my reading. I carry "When Life Gives You Lemons ..." and love it. But then mostly I read it on my iPhone while riding a plane or train. That would be after I work the puzzles, etc, so there are no predictions when I will finish. A chapter once a week at least is my goal. Got to finish it before your new one for sure.

    3. Jim, you are truly a sweetheart and I love that you're reading my book - still, that's gold. I also don't normally buy tickets unless the dollars are high. I think we make our own luck and mine certainly wont come via a lottery win, but you cant win it if you're not in, so occasionally I test my luck.
